On stage presentations

The morning focuses on AI and its use in industry. In addition, the latest results from research at the University West are presented.

How AI creates benefit for industry
Astrid Sjögren, AI expert

AI or artificial intelligence is now in focus, but how does Swedish industry benefit from AI? Astrid Sjögren, AI coach with background from AI Sweden, gives an overview of AI beyond the hype and shows how Swedish industrial companies can use the technology.

AI for the optimization of industrial flows
Marcus Frantzén, senior consultant Evoma AB

Simulation is a powerful tool for analyzing production processes and flows. The combination of simulation and AI makes it possible to solve and optimize very complex problems. The presentation shows practical use in industry, for example to automatically identify bottlenecks and provide suggestions for measures.

Production for Future – industrial AI meets the gender equality challenge
Johan Bengtsson, Head of Technology Development, Gothenburg Technical College
Matilda Hurtig, Project Manager, Gothenburg College of Technology

Everyone is talking AI, but we see few examples from production. Johan Bengtsson will talk about AI and give examples from the project's mini-factories connected to industry.

Everyone is talking about equality, what can be done? Matilda Hurtig talks about the importance of diversity and inclusion. In the project, for example, we have worked to raise female role models in technology.

Research Demonstrators
Kristina Eriksson, docent University West

Research at the university continuously creates new demonstrators to test new solutions. The exhibition shows the following examples:

  • Robot-assisted kitting using a Multi Agent System
  • AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) more efficient internal logistics using mobile solutions that adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Master students' work, results from this year's project work in the field of automation.

On stage presentations

The afternoon sessions focus on automation projects, circularity and the importance of the organization for successful automation.

The importance of the acceptance test for a successful commissioning
Peter Karlsson, Evomatic AB
Ronny Eriksson, Ovako AB

Ovako Steel has installed a robotic palletizing equipment for stock blanks. The project shows how important the acceptance test (FAT) is. EVOMATIC and Ovako Steel talk about their lessons learned from the project as supplier and customer respectively.

Transform the recycling industry through automation
Emil Falk, CEO of WindowGlass Recycling AB

Learn how a small startup goes to sales success by developing and building ground-breaking machines for recycling window glass that would otherwise end up in landfill. At the same time, a global sand crisis is being fought.

Circularity in a contract manufacturing company
Victor Backman, CEO Främmestadverken AB
Peder Edholm, project manager AH Automation AB

Främmestadverken chose to rebuild existing equipment instead of investing in a processing cell in connection with a new order. Victor Backman explains why they chose that solution and how the company thought about the risks of older equipment. As an automation supplier in the project, Peder Edholm talks about the challenges of taking over old equipment and building a new cell.

How do we create innovative environments for effective automation
GKN Aerospace, Siemens Energy and AnVa KSG

GKN Aerospace, Siemens Energy and AnVa KSG describe why diversity and inclusion are one of the success factors in creating an innovative and developing work environment. Experiences regarding how companies work actively with diversity and inclusion will be shared. The importance of networks to be inspired, learn new things and share knowledge will also be highlighted.

Industry 4.0 in practice - integrated digital value chain
Steinar Gulaker, CEO Haugstad Møbel AS

In order to be competitive, the company with 35 employees has made a rapid development journey with investment in Industry 4.0 solutions. Steinar Gulaker talks about the background to the investment, the technical solutions and how the company's organization has developed in parallel with the technology.

How to build a battery factory?
Oskar Falk, production manager NOVO Energy AB

Northvolt and Volvo Cars are building a new factory for batteries in Gothenburg. Oskar Falk talks about how such a giant project is carried out, what the technical challenges are, what benefits you get from simulation and digital twins and, above all, how to build an organization that can staff a new factory with completely new processes.
